Nederland staat op plek vijf op de ranglijst van de meest gelukkige landen ter wereld. Maar waarom zijn wij eigenlijk zo gelukkig? Aan het regenachtige weer in dit koude kikkerlandje zullen we deze vijfde plek namelijk niet te danken hebben. Olga woont als expat in Nederland en heeft wel een idee waarom Nederlanders zo vrolijk zijn. Toch is niet iedereen het met haar eens.
1. Dit is waarom Olga denkt dat Nederlanders zo gelukkig zijn.

It doesn’t surprise me, as people here seem quite satisfied (though most negative and complainiest of folk). I think the Calvinist society helps, in the following ways: 1️⃣ people really take their time off, 2 weeks in Feb, 2-4 weeks in August + Christmas time off 2️⃣ they don’t long to have or spend “more money”, here a proud moment is showing off how little you spend on something. This includes holidays; they keep their vacations minimal. 3️⃣ since the government will support your basic needs and healthcare is affordable, you don’t really feel the need to compete with your neighbors on how much you earn, etc Of course, this is a generalization, there are plenty of people that are completely opposite of what I describe above, but these are my observations!♬ Aesthetic – Tollan Kim
2. Toch kunnen niet veel Nederlanders zich in dit beeld herkennen.
3. Andere mensen denken de échte reden te weten.
4. Wie gelukkig wil zijn, moet slim handelen.
5. Uiteindelijk is dit de echte sleutel tot ons geluk.
